It’s a big world out there

Short post for today since I am pretty tired and typing this at 7:30 am Amsterdam time, which translates to 12:30 am my time, I think.  My trip to Mumbai has gone pretty well so far considering that I had to reroute the trip through Detroit the day before I left due to the weather catastrophe that has hit the southeastern united states.  My thoughts and prayers are with all of you who are affected by this.

Here is a “selfie” I took at 7:50 am this morning in the lounge here in Amsterdam:

The flight to Amsterdam was pretty quiet and the plane was about half full.  Many people were unable to make domestic connections to Detroit because of the weather issues in so many cities.  It is amazing to see just how connected the airline system is not only in the US, but also across the globe.

Traveling outside of my own home country always brings new things into view.  We take so much for granted when we stay in our “bubble” and it is fun, challenging, tiring and exhilarating to get out and see the world.  On the way to Amsterdam I sat by a gentleman who is headed to Capetown , South Africa.  He has 13 hours to ride from here to there.  I only have another 8.5 hours to Mumbai.

I’ll send some other posts as I speak and meet others this weekend at the World HRD Congress at the Taj Lands End Hotel.

Hope you are doing well.
