Life in action: The personal part of my life
“Walk the Talk” was a popular phrase just over 20 years ago when Tom Peters wrote his legendary book “In Search of Excellence”. In keeping with Mr. Peter’s framework I am spending this week with my wife of 30+ years strengthening the personal part of my life. I spoke about the personal frame last week in this post and the model below will give you a better view of what this framework looks like.
Being a former mathematician there is always a component of truth that needs to be added to show that I am not just “talking”, but really living out what I am preaching in this segment of posts. Here are a few shots of what we have done and seen in the past week:
Time is the essential ingredient when it comes to building your personal life. That time needs to be spent in the following ways:
- Spending time with your family; spouse and children, siblings, parents
- Spending time with your friends
- Time with yourself in reflection
- Time in prayer
I need to end this post so I will not look more like a hypocrite.
Go now and build your own personal life.
