Times change and so have we at Ryan Search & Consulting
Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it. These words are attributed to George Santayana, a well known philosopher and essayist from the 20th century. The past can be a great teacher and knowing the past can help solve and avoid problems as they arise both today and in the future.
Ryan Search & Consulting was started on November 1, 2010 with the hope of providing a firm that provides solutions for clients that involve people. In the verbiage of today I commonly use the terms Talent Acquisition and Talent Development, but fundamentally what we do is help people grow, both individually and within their organizations.
Here are a few headlines that came from the world when we were at our inception in 2010:
- US Economy adds 151,000 jobs; unemployment remains at 9.6%
- President announces pay freeze for all federal employees
- North Korean Military attacks South Korean island, killing 4
Now compare those headlines with these from the past month:
- US unemployment holds at 5.1%
- According to Mercer, the average raise in base pay will be 3.0% in 2015
- ISIS kills 3 people by tying them to columns and then blowing them up
While the state of affairs in the world have not changed much due to the threat of terrorism, the economy of the United States has improved significantly in most sectors. This change has provided a number of opportunities for our firm to partner with clients to aid them in finding new talent as well as to help them grow and develop the talent they have.
One item that is not mentioned in the information above is the acceleration of the baby boomers leaving the work force. This exodus has an impact on all of us and it will provide talent challenges and opportunities for years to come.
Our approach from a strategic level has not changed.
Our tactics at an operational level are always evolving.
Let us know how we can be of assistance to you.
We are extremely blessed to be here five years later and look forward to God's continued blessings as we move into the second five years of our existence.
