Verses for the Journey-Scripture to reflect upon while in Transition

Kudos again to our pastor, David Cassidy, for giving me more great thoughts to use in my writing this week.  David discussed the value of community prayer and shared that over 80% of the time the bible talks about prayer in community, meaning with others, rather than in solitude.  Nothing wrong with praying on our own, but praying with others is extremely valuable.

This game me the thought to find a few verses that job seekers could fall back to use when they are on their journey.  The verses are related to key words I consider when thinking about job search.

My thanks to for the scripture.  I hope these help those of you on that journey to your next role:

  • Community
  • Hebrews 10:24-25

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

  • Hope
  • Job 6:11

“What strength do I have, that I should still hope? What prospects, that I should be patient?

  • Vision
  • Habakkuk 2:2

[ The Lord’s Answer ] Then the Lord replied: “Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it.

  • Planning
  • Proverbs 21:5

The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty.

  • Communication
  • Ephesians 4:29

Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

  • Thanksgiving
  • Psalm 100:4

Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.

  • Disappointment
  • Romans 5:5

And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

Let me know if you have other verses you would add to this list.
